
The Jaipur History Festival 2023, themed “Education through Monuments,” celebrated the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan and displayed how monuments can be powerful tools for education. The event, held from December 5-7, 2023, was organized by the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum Trust in association with SK Foundation, and featured the participation of over 100 schools from across India.

- Cultural and Educational Presentations: Over 190 monument-based presentations were showcased by students from schools across India, bringing history, engineering, geography, art, and more to life. The festival highlighted the educational potential of monuments in various subjects including mathematics, physics, chemistry, and sociology.
- Monumental Dance and Drama: Students presented captivating dance dramas, cultural performances, and exhibitions focused on the history and significance of monuments. Notable performances included:
- Sunbeam School Varanasi’s Ganga Aarti, a breath-taking depiction of the Ganga river’s cultural importance.
- Modern School Jaipur’s dance drama on the Jagat Shiromani Temple and Panna Meena ki Baoli.
- SRN International’s fusion dance/drama that blended five iconic Rajasthan monuments into one powerful performance.
- Workshops and Hands-on Activities: The festival featured a series of workshops for students, including pottery making, printmaking, origami, and rocket launching. Mayoor School Jaipur conducted a workshop on rocketry, launching mini rockets during the event.
- Launch of Books and Publications: On December 7, Princess Gauravi Kumari and Mrs. Shalini Setia launched 10 books, including “Phad se Padh” and several student-written graphic novels. The books focused on diverse subjects such as road safety, Indian heritage, and regional monuments.
- Monument Exhibitions: The students displayed impressive models and creative presentations of Rajasthan’s iconic monuments, like Gaitor ki Chhatriyan, Albert Hall Museum, and Jantar Mantar, blending research with artistic expression.
